My Approach
Each session begins with understanding what brings you here and what is going on in your body and mind.
Drawing from my training in anatomy, fascia, and the nervous system, I blend therapeutic techniques like fysiurgisk massage, trigger-point therapy and myofascial bodywork to address what your body is telling me.
Treatment Techniques
Fysiurgisk massage
Feeling stuck in your body? Through fysiurgisk massage I combine targeted pressure with intuitive touch to address those stubborn areas of tension that just won't budge.
This therapeutic massage approach goes beyond simply "pressing on sore spots" – I look for the source of your discomfort. That neck pain might actually stem from tightness in your shoulders, or your lower back issues could originate in your hips. Our bodies are wonderfully connected, and fysiurgisk massage works with these connections.
During your session, I'll use specialized techniques to release restrictions in your muscles and fascia (the connective tissue network that surrounds everything in your body). This helps improve your range of motion, reduce pain, and create space for your body to function more freely.
myofascial therapy
Ever wonder why that tight shoulder doesn't seem to improve, no matter how much you stretch it? The answer might be in your fascia – the incredible connective tissue that wraps around every muscle, nerve, and organ in your body.
Myofascial therapy is a hands-on technique that gently works with this fascial network to ease restrictions and create more space in your body. Unlike deeper, more forceful methods, myofascial work involves sustained, gentle pressure that allows your tissues to gradually soften and release.
What makes myofascial therapy special is how it respects your body's wisdom. Rather than forcing change, this approach creates the conditions for your tissues to naturally release and find balance.
trigger point therapy
Trigger points are those sensitive, knotted areas in your muscles that can cause both local pain and "referred pain" elsewhere in your body. They're like little tension magnets, pulling your muscles tight and disrupting your comfort and movement.
During trigger point therapy, I'll use my trained touch to locate these problematic areas – often in places you wouldn't expect. That tender spot in your shoulder might be sending pain signals to completely different areas of your body.
Rather than broader massage strokes, trigger point therapy involves applying sustained pressure to these precise areas, encouraging them to release and reset. Breathe through the sensation, and you'll likely notice immediate changes – pain diminishing, movement improving, and a feeling of lightness in areas that were previously heavy with tension.
Your body is electric.
Wired for movement, memory, and meaning.
Pain is a signal, a story held in muscle, fascia, and the nervous system.
Where it hurts is rarely where it starts, and that’s where the real work begins.
